I know it is a common type poem for Valentine's Day, but I still think it is wonderful to read.
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, --- I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! --- and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
by Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Despite the crazy days at my house, I know I caught myself a WONDERFUL husband, and a GREAT daddy.
Some things that come to mind when I think of my husband ...
- Calm most of the time (at least from the outside)
- Thoughtful
- Affectionate
- He tells me EVERYDAY how much I mean to him
- HE loves ME
- I am pretty sure he would go to the ends of the earth to do something that I asked of him
- He is smart ... REALLY SMART
- He works hard to provide for his family, allowing this Mommy to stay home and do her best to raise good people
- He is innovative ... I love that!
- He can read my thoughts and just know what I am thinking
- He UNDERSTANDS me and my many crazy ways ;)
- He is encouraging and lets me know that I am smart ... that I can do anything I set my mind to.
- He is well liked and outgoing ... much more of an extrovert than I am
- Great at multi-tasking ... outside of the home ;)
oh yeah ...
He gives great hugs, and wonderful, soft kisses
and
I think he is pretty darn CUTE!
Happy Valentine's Day to this man...
I sent him an e-mail this morning. Sometimes I write to him because I can express better what I feel inside (that, and it is much easier to get things across to him while he is at work and often distracted). Often when I speak out loud, my words don't always convey the right message. Anyway, I got a response, and the best one I have had in a looooooooooooooong time ....
I love this man!
I Love you, you make me smile…
Elaine- You are smart, capable, and will do an awesome job!
You have my support, but you don’t need my “authorization” to do what’s best for the family… You know what needs to be done; you have great instincts (you just don’t trust them).
The email below is EXTREMELY well written; with more confidence and clarity than I have heard from you in a LONG time. Keep that spirit about you and you can’t go wrong.
I’m with you 100%; I’ll go wherever you say we should go…
